Brilliance of Taiwanese Media
For once, I will not comment on their take on politics, their choices of issues, and the amount of graphic images they choose to put on their shows...
Today, it will be a brief entry on their reporting skills of newly released books.
Today was the worldwide release of the 7th Harry Potter Book and having been waiting for this book for quite some time, I already ordered mine ahead of time. However, I no longer am interested in reading it.
Why, you must ask...
Well, upon its debut, of course there were swarms of reporters waiting for the very sight of eager fans to get their copy....
in hopes of catching a story different from any other news station... they asked... what happens?
And on national TV, on the first day of its release... I know the ending of the 7th Harry Potter book. And I hate it. The anticipation has officially been ruined. Seriously, WTH!? And all day they report about why kids these days no longer enjoy reading!? Hmm!? Maybe it's because they know the ending and it defeats the purpose of reading!!
Of all the channels I could've been watching, it had to be that one.
What morons!
(For the sake of those that hate knowing endings before it even starts, I will spare the details)

Vegas, Baby! (May 11-12)
Vegas, Peru, and LA all in a little over 2 weeks time! Congrats Dr. Double D on your graduation from UNLV Dental!! Now I must say, this was my shortest trip in Vegas yet, but most fun packed. 1.5 days, 3 hrs of sleep, old friends and possibly too much alcohol (however, Revolution has this amazing crushed martini made with fresh blueberries that I highly recommend). In addition to too much fun, I probably had one of my best flights ever: took a window seat, leaned against the window, didn't feel the take off, slept like a baby, didn't wake up until the wheels hit the ground during landing and, voila! back to LA. Worked better than any sleeping aid!

Peru- Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu (May 14-20)
My first dose of South America. One quick night in Lima, two in Cusco, two in Machu Picchu, and one more brutal night in Cusco. Brutal not because we were exhausted but because I spent the previous night praying to the porcelain god from an obviously great hamburger that gave us food poisoning. Just wonderful, eh!? In retrospect, spending that extra hour heading back to the hotel to eat lunch and returning to Machu Picchu would've been the smarter choice. But nonetheless, a fun and interesting trip :) Thanks, my finger fetish friend ;) Additional (less amateur) Peru pics

Physical Beauty
...apparently is key (at least according to the museum exhibition my fashionista friend went to in Taiwan)
It reads:
"Nothing's more important than physical beauty. You don't worth nothing when you're ugly, even normal. If you're not gorgious, at least try to improve your body, fight age decay, use plastic surgery. That's a minimum"

Iles de la Madeleine (Madeleine Island), Canada
For my winter/spring break, I got to go to the Madeleine Islands located off the Gaspe Peninsula in Canada. It was by far the most exotic trip I've ever been on. Even though I knew I'd be in the natural habitat of Harp Seals during their breeding season... seeing it in person was another experience in itself. Nothing could've prepped me for this trip. It was just amazing. Thanks Dave!
Socal Weekend
As for being back to LA... it was a great feeling. I didn't want to leave. Seriously had to tear myself away from socal. I thought going to LA would leave me refreshed and ready to take on what awaited me back in NH. However, quite the opposite happened. My little dose of LA caused me to mope around for days after my return trying to figure out why in the world i was in New Hampshire and not back in Cali. Its amazing what feelings a little sun, a lil fun and a lot of old friends can bring on. But with that being said, while seeing old friends is always a great feeling, being a part of a friends biggest night makes it that much better :) Nicole, you were a stunning bride. Congratulations again.
